KAT Centre Nepal
KAT Nepal depends greatly on volunteers who donate their time and talent to help the animals. Without volunteers, we could not accomplish or advance our mission. Improving the welfare of animals is a big job. But every little thing you do to help solve the problems of overpopulation, cruelty, neglect, and irresponsible pet ownership counts.
The KAT Nepal Volunteer Program will give you the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of all animals. We couldn’t conduct all the hands-on work that we do at KAT Center without the aid of a fantastic group of volunteers!
There are multiple opportunities to support KAT Centre Nepal through volunteering.

Steps to becoming a
KAT Nepal Volunteer
All new volunteers are required to attend a new volunteer orientation. Pre-registration is required, and space is limited.
At the session, prospective volunteers will receive a tour of the center and specific information on volunteering and volunteer opportunities in the shelter. During the session, new volunteers will learn how to log their time and when shifts are available.
Assist in maintaining the health and wellbeing of the rescue’s pets and creating an inviting environment for potential adopters and clients to provide the best possible service to the community through everyday tasks such as laundry, dishes, sorting donations, sweeping, cleaning, and organizing.
General Volunteers assist with all the supplementary tasks that keep the shelter running smoothly.
Help provide the shelter’s dogs and cats with physical activity and enrichment through walks, playtime, and more by assisting with cleaning out the kennels, helping out at feeding times, cleaning and grooming animals, checking animals daily and monitoring their health. You will also help with general cleaning, laundry, dishes, and other essential tasks. For the safety of our animals and volunteers, only volunteers who can demonstrate proper handling after training will be approved. Documented Rabies Vaccinations required.
Administrative and Research Volunteers
Assist shelter staff with projects such as data entry, grant writing, filing, and organizational projects. Conduct surveys on animal birth control and other emerging concerns and solutions related to animal welfare.
KAT Nepal hosts many events each year and can always use volunteer support at fundraising events throughout the community. Event Volunteers assist with tabling, sharing information about the shelter, event set-up, and clean-up, directing guests, and much more.
Help keep the shelter grounds clean and functional by weed whacking, lawn mowing, and trail maintenance. Assist with other projects such as painting, general repairs, and more.
Social Media Volunteers
Help keep the shelter relevant on multiple social media platforms by making and uploading videos and taking photos and posting on social media. Responding to the comments and message that are received in social media.
